To pass the time…

I will be posting another countdown blog soon, but I thought I would give you something to do while you’re waiting.

Head on over to The Disney Chick’s blog.  She’s witty, insightful, and posts WDW recipes.  What more do you need?  Head on over there right now and read away.

If you want something to start you off, this post about the five people you meet in line at Walt Disney World is hilarious and true.

You’re welcome.

Disney Parks Blog

Hello my friends,

I wanted to send you all a little something to keep up to date with happenings at the Disney Parks, if you so desire.

Sometime in October I believe, the official Disney website decided that they wanted their own say in the blog world on what was happening in the parks, so they launched a Disney Parks Blog.  Here select cast members post updates on what new themes are coming to the park and how you can spend your money on them, or brag about how environmentally friendly they are.  They invite readers to post comments, even going as far as asking questions for comments at the end of their posts.  But don’t get too excited.  As any smart official business blog, the comments are moderated before posted.

Despite the overall sugar-coating of how fantastic the parks and Disney are, I generally like this blog.  There is a post at least everyday, sometimes more (I know, real blogs are supposed to have frequent posts), and they keep a good mix of articles, videos, and photos.  I have also seen a few negative comments on the blog, so it is nice to see they are letting a few people give honest criticism, I guess.

My favorite posts so far have been tilt-shift videos of Magic Kingdom and Epcot in Florida.  If you’re not familiar, tilt-shift is a filming style that creates the illusion of miniaturization, or in other words, it makes the subject look like model toys.  I don’t know what the specific technique is, but you may have seen it in a few Toyota commercials lately.  It’s really fascinating to me.  Click on the links and enjoy!

So, if you enjoy the theme parks and are planning a trip sometime soon, I would say this is an interesting resource for you.  Or if you’re like me, it’s a good way to get your Disney fix for the day.
